Visiting Mt. Helix Park
Mt. Helix Park is open 365 days a year to the public. From Point Loma to Lakeside, the Park offers an amazing 360º view of San Diego. Come explore everything that we have to offer from the diverse ecosystem to the historic amphitheater. Mt. Helix Park welcomes everyone!
Hiking
The Park offers a short and easy hiking trail located to the right of the amphitheater. Take an easy stroll along the Yawkey Trail and see all of the native plant life to the Park.
Photography
With a 360º view of San Diego, this is truly a photographers paradise. The park offers a wide variety of photography angles from the sprawling native plants, breathing views and diverse animal ecosystem. Come by for a one of a kind sunrise and sunset. Walk to the Top
In addition to an upper parking lot next to the amphitheater, the Park owns two parking lots at the intersection of Mt. Helix Dr. and Vivera Dr. next to the San Miguel Fire Station. These areas are open to Park visitors during Park hours of operation and are a great place to start your walk to the top.
Fitness
With a large amphitheater many people take advantage of the sprawling stairs for their fitness routines. If you are interested in an organized class come to Helix Yoga or Zumba! See our calendar for more details.
Events
The Park hosts a variety of events year round. Our two biggest events of the year are the Sunrise Easter Service and the Food and Wine Festival. Great for all ages these are some of the most amazing events you don't want to miss! We hold three free member only events a year Pups & Pizza, Astronomy Night and the Sunset Soiree. Memberships start at just $35 a household. Don't miss out on the fun and support the Park today by becoming a member!
