Mt. Helix Park's Food and Wine Festival is the Park's annual fundraiser/gala. Held at the end of summer, it has grown to become one of the area's foremost celebrations, attracting guests from all over the County who come to enjoy an evening from atop one of the region's best viewpoints.
The Mt. Helix Food and Wine Committee brings together some of the best culinary and beverage selections along with local bands and artists.
The Park's silent auction features unique items donated by local businesses and community members, along with private Park packages and San Diego experiences. All proceeds go to help maintain this historical site.
Tickets go on sale at the beginning of summer with discounted tickets for park members. Included in your ticket price is a ride to and from the park in one of San Diego's Old Town Trolleys. Also included is sampling from local restaurants, wineries, breweries, and dessert shops.
WHY?
Established in 1999 amidst a legal battle over the park's iconic cross, the Mt. Helix Park Foundation operates independently, receiving no government funding. With the critical funding received at the yearly fundraiser, they can keep the park open year-round free to the public, security, and pay for while maintaining a public portable bathroom. This funding also supports free public events provided by the foundation such as Nature Day and Christmas on Mt. Helix. With each ticket purchase, you're not just enjoying gourmet delights; you're investing in the preservation of Mt. Helix Park's rich history and natural beauty for generations to come.
